Dolly's Imagination Library
is a unique gift to children created by the legendary Dolly Parton. Launched in 1996 in her Smokey
Mountain homeland, the Imagination Library mails a free, hard cover, age appropriate book to every
enrolled child under 5 in her community.
In 2001, she offered other communities the opportunity to replicate the Imagination Library.
Local sponsors bring the program to their community by covering the cost of the books and mailing
and enrolling as many of their children as possible. Today well over 600 communities join together
to give millions of books to their preschoolers. To find out more about the Imagination Library and the

Penguin Group (USA) is delighted to join with Dolly's Imagination Library in this effort.
Penguin is the exclusive supplier of all of the books for the program and is also a major sponsor of
Dolly's Imagination Playhouse at Dollywood. Dolly's Imagination Playhouse brings several of the
books to life as theatrical productions for the young and the young at heart.
