Dolly's Imagination Library

Dolly's Imagination Library is a unique gift to children created by the legendary Dolly Parton. Launched in 1996 in her Smoky Mountain homeland, the Imagination Library mails a free, paperback, age appropriate book to every enrolled child under 5 in her community.

In 2001, she offered other communities the opportunity to replicate the Imagination Library. Local sponsors bring the program to their community by covering the cost of the books and mailing and enrolling as many of their children as possible. 1422 communities 48 states, plus DC gifted over 36 million books (36,583,963). Penguin Group (USA) is delighted to join with Dolly's Imagination Library in this effort. Penguin is the exclusive supplier of all of the books for the program and is also a major sponsor of Dolly's Imagination Playhouse at Dollywood. Dolly's Imagination Playhouse brings several of the books to life as theatrical productions for the young and the young at heart.
