When Kathryn Stockett was twelve years old, she told her best friend Tate Taylor, that she was going to grow up and write novels. He told her he was going to grow up and make movies. Many years later, Kathryn Stockett wrote her first novel, The Help. And Tate Taylor wrote the screenplay for The Help and is directing it, with Dreamworks and Christopher Columbus 1492 production company producing. Filming will start this summer in Mississippi.

In the latest casting update, Bryce Dallas Howard (Victoria in the upcoming movie, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) has signed on to play Hilly! EW.com shares details here.
