9. Multiple love interests. (Chance & Jesse, check, but I have readers suggesting Booke & Kel, too. Really?! And no, Miranda, under no circumstances will I kill off Eva and match Corine with Chuch, no matter how adorable you find him. Yes, I was picturing Luis Guzman too.)
8. Continuing story arcs. (I love not having to wrap it all up in one book.)
7. There is a plausible reason for an unusually intelligent Chihuahua. You just haven't figured it out yet. (Yes, you can email me your guesses. I don't think you'll ever get it. Until you read it and go, "ohhhhhh.")
6. Two words: haunted diaphragm.
5. Finally, my years of playing D&D pay off, and I can create my own spells!
4. See above, only with monsters. Look for the Corine Solomon bestiary, coming soon.
3. Sexual tension. (I can draw this out for books, if I want to. No, I'm not telling who she hooks up with, mostly because I don't know yet. Note: Anne is strongly in the Chance camp.)
2. Because it's fantasy, now with even more explosions!
And finally...
1. In plotting, I can use the extra-awesome Lucy Lawless Simpsons explanation for any continuity issues: "A wizard did it."

I'm intrigued by #6! And #5 helps explain why you and Jeri are always talking about your +2 fire spells.

I loved Blue Diablo - great start to a new series.
"There is a plausible reason for an unusually intelligent Chihuahua. " It's because he eats Tacos!! : D

Great list, Ann! 10, 8, 3,
Great list, Ann! 10, 8, 3, & 2 are definitely my favorite reasons, as well.
"A wizard did it." From now
"A wizard did it."
From now on, I think I'll use that for any problem I run into....
Stuck on #6 item
After going through a very embarrassing April Fools where I fell for many gags, I am really wondering about this haunted diaphragm. Could there truly be one in your book? No, certainly not! But the other items seem to be true! What does it mean? Color me very curious.
A wizard totally did it! And
A wizard totally did it!
And you're great at strong female leads...Grimspace, anyone?
The haunted diaphragm is NOT
The haunted diaphragm is NOT a joke. Well, not exactly. You just have to read the book, methinks.
And isn´t ¨a wizard did it¨ the funnest explanation ever? Lucy Lawless was a guest at the comic store one episode and anytime the nerds were asking her about continuity glitches, she would say firmly, ¨A wizard did it.¨ Awesome.
Thanks so much for the kind words, guys!
Therese, are you a gamer too?
Ana, there actually is an explanation for Butch. You´ll find out his deal in book three.
Kelly, I so agree with you.
Thanks, Crystal!!
Great List
Hi Ann,
This is a really funny top ten list. #5 was my favorite, not sure I really want to know what a haunted diaphragm is, although I would want to read you book. This is an interesing genre that am not to familiar with. You can post this to our site http://www.toptentopten.com/ and then link back to your site. We are looking for top ten lists and our users can track back to your site. The coolest feature is you can let other people vote on the rankings of your list. Our web developer also happens to wor for goodreads.com, a very cool book website. Good luck to you and your writing career!
