Yes, I voted for Obama, by Larry Winget:

(View entire post here)

You would not believe the number of emails I am getting about my political affiliation.  Some of you reading this are probably some of the people who have written me.  I kept my politics out of my blog for a long time but ever since I came out on a FOX News interview saying I was a Democrat voting for Obama, the hate mail has been steady.  Let me make my position clear.

Yes, I voted for Obama.  I don't agree with all of his views in terms of the bailouts, but I do agree with many other things he endorses.  I am a social liberal and a fiscal conservative.  I have many Republican friends who are also fiscal conservatives and social liberals.  You can belong to either party and believe that way.  In my case, there are some things where I have extremely conservative views and some of my views would be considered quite liberal.  I am not one of those stupid one issue voters.  I have lots of irons in the fire just like everyone else and I want to cast my vote on what makes sense to me based on many issues, not just one.  I also understand how desperately America needs hope right now and obviously others agree with me based on the overwhelming turnout at the polls.  Obama represented hope to millions of Americans who are afraid and in trouble.  We are tired of the fear and the negativity and the politics of politics.  We want to believe in something again.  That hope he brings is just as important as are his views on the GM bailout.  And please realize that many Republicans voted for him too.  Democrats alone didn't put him in office.  Nor did African-Americans alone.  Or Hispanics.  Or people under 30.  Or women.  Or white men.  There was a consensus of many groups of people who believed in him as a MAN and were able to get past the small disagreements they had with some of his politics.

Are people really idiots?, by Larry Winget:

(View entire post here)

Are people really idiots? Obviously I believe so based on the title of my new book, People Are Idiots And I Can Prove It.

What else could I believe based on the evidence provided?

Parents don't talk to their kids or discipline their kids; give them everything they want and then wonder why their kids are a mess.

People barely do any work while they are on the job, then can't figure out why they got laid off when times got tough for their employer.

People spend more money than they earn then seem to be surprised that the people who loaned them the money actually want to be repaid.

The majority of people can't read and don't read.

I am an attack dog when it comes to stupid behavior by Larry Winget:

(View entire post here)

I am an attack dog when it comes to stupid behavior.  After all, I have trademarked, The Pitbull of Personal Development®.  I even encourage others to become pitbulls in their own way and to attack when confronted by rude, absurd, stupid behavior.  I find that people often are confused by my confrontational style and sometimes miss my intent.  Based on that, some people consider my attacks to be either rude, condescending, or personal.  I can assure you that is not the case.  I never attack another human being on a personal level.  I do, however, feel I have the right to attack the behavior of an individual or an organization.

I recently watched a segment of 60 Minutes with Supreme Court Justice Scalia.  Justice Scalia was talking about his very close friend, Justice Ginsberg and how they have such an unlikely friendship.  After all, you have Scalia, a right wing conservative and Ginsberg, a left wing liberal.  Scalia said, "I attack ideas, not people, and there are very good people with very bad ideas."  I like that line.  I hope I do the same.  At least that is my intent: I want the ability to rise above behavior and enjoy people while still being able to consider that their actions are stupid, detrimental, idiotic, rude and sometimes seemingly insane.

The Pitbull of Personal Development® and New York Times bestselling author is back with advice on the dumb things people do to sabotage their success.

What do people really want? They want what they've got. It's a simple formula. You have what you want because your actions produced your results. Not your words, and certainly not your wants.
