Do you own a Blackberry or some other device that helps you keep track of your schedule and days? Now do you know what you are going to have for dinner tonight or tomorrow night? In my experience working with patients that are overweight most have a plan for their days and weeks, but don’t have a plan for one of the most important components of your life, food. So why is it that we don’t invest the time into taking care of ourselves?

If you want to lose weight one of the easiest ways is not to wait until ten minutes before dinner time to decide what you are going to eat. Taking ten minutes a week to sit down and plan your meals and this can save you from giving into your cravings when it is too late to defrost anything.

One wise tip is to plan your meals and then do your shopping according to your list. Each night if something is frozen, put it in the refrigerator to defrost for the next nights meal.

Frozen vegetables are also a great time saving measure; they are often just as good as fresh and are always on hand in the freezer. Make use of baked potatoes, sweet potatoes, and corn on the cob as easy 2:90 side dishes.

Make the time each week to plan your meals and you can avoid eating out high caloric meals and also save time and money.

Here is an easy healthy Reality Diet summertime meal that can be prepared in less than 30 minutes:

- Barbeque Chicken Breast on the grill (1 tablespoon barbeque sauce)
- Small baked sweet potato
- Green beans
(cook in sodium free chicken broth and chopped garlic for extra flavor)
