This year for African-American History Month, we've decided to showcase Penguin books that have been nominated for NAACP Image Awards, as well as some other new releases having to do with African-American history. The NAACP Image Awards are awarded on February 26th. You can visit their website for more details.

The first book, which is also the featured Penguin Podcast for the week of February 2nd, is The Book of Night Women. A chilling narrative about life under slavery on the island of Jamaica, author Marlon James discusses the differences between slavery and race relations in Jamaica compared to the United States.
