I had seen your book promoted on the NCTM website and was awaiting the release date. To my surprise and delight, my superintendent sent me a copy late last week and I began reading it over the Labor Day weekend.
I was thrilled to see in your opening remarks, how your confidence soared after learning mathematics, and how that confidence has helped you throughout your career. I intend to share that statement (and many others) with my students as well as some of the methods you employ in your book, hoping that they will share enough in my excitement to want to purchase the book themselves.
I always promote the knowledge of mathematics to students of both genders and, having the testimonials in your book to lean upon, I can easily provide current examples for the girls in my classes to follow. Thank you for writing such a wonderful book and for sharing your expertise and experiences with all of us.
