So, yea, "crooks', no wiggle room around THAT, but how metaphoric do you see THEM?....
Can't our financial crisis---outside of Madoff the Wretch---be seen as a kind of con game?
I keep thinking of this story, told by magician Ricky Jay during his (last) act: Story in NY papers @1850....Decently-dressed Guy comes up to a well-dressed Guy on NY street. "Don't you trust me with your watch, he asks?" "Don't you have confidence that I will return it?" Guy wants to trust....gives him his watch..........guy takes off..............
(evidently this story was picked up in many papers and may have created the name 'con artist' ?)
