Okay, I'd like to point out some of the more obscure features about vampires that writers might want to consider:
1. Hair. Does a vampire's hair continue to grow? I would think not since they're dead. Therefore reading about a vampire noble from a few centuries ago with short hair might not be very believable. Although I guess the hair could be cut and just never grow back - they'd be stuck with the haircut for eternity.
2. Teeth. I would imagine really old vampires would have fairly bad teeth. I mean, dental hygiene a few centuries ago wasn't very good. No Crest whitestrips back then . . . .
3. Ahem. Not to be too graphic but if a vampire is several centuries old, aren't they more likely to be uncircumcised? Some of the more descriptive adult scenes in fantasy books don't mention that issue. Am I the only person that notices this?
