Isn't it somewhat insulting to relegate fantasy to a single sub-genre of SF/F when it, in fact, contains whole subgenres of its own? Why does SF get the privilege of being distinguished into military SF and hard SF when there are equally as many different types of fantasy, from epic fantasy to urban fantasy?
Also, from Robin McKinley's blog, I think we can be fairly certain that she is still living in England and that Peter Dickinson is alive and well.
