Hello and Happy Holidays!
My 8 1/2 year old son is in love with the transit maps of NYC (both bus and train) that he actually sits down and writes down each stop from the train for most of the NYC train lines. I purchased your book "Transit Maps of the World". I was wondering if you had more diagrams of transit maps, or even older diagrams or offer information about where we can visit/tour in NYC other than the NYC Transit Museum.He is in the third grade and I am trying to find things for him to do during the few days that he has off for the Christmas break.
He constantly writes directions, studies road, street, bus and the transit maps and I hope that one day it would embrace his as much as he has a passion for it. I recently bought him the 2008 Rand Road Map of the states for Christmas but would love to have him have hands-on. If you don't know of any areas for us to visit, with such a love for maps and trains, could you recommend what I could do to nurture this passion. Would it be possible for you to send him any old maps that you could spare. We would be grateful for whatever you have. Our address is as follows: Thank you in advance for your time and attention.
P.S. It was recommended that I purchase him an architect's set but I am not sure what to look for that is not too advanced for him, any suggestions? Thanks and be blessed this holiday season.
