“Where does the wind come from?”

“What does it feel like to be stabbed?”

“Why is the sky blue?”

Who hasn’t been asked one of these questions by a young child, and suddenly found themselves hemming, hawing and desperately trying to think of an answer? Unless you have Calvin’s (as in the witty comic strip, Calvin and Hobbes) dad’s ability to lie with panache and ease, most of us grind to a halt and then weakly admit we just don’t know.
