To round out this week of introductions, we bring you the Editorial Assistants, laboring in the trenches, waging daily battle against the slush pile and juggling probably about thirty seven tasks at any given time.
The Imprint Focus on Roc and Ace will continue after the Thanksgiving holidays with a series of interviews. Please check back regularly!
Cameron Dufty, Editorial Assistant
Growing up in Idaho I read while riding my bike to school (it’s much easier to read while riding the subway). I still get anxious if I don’t have something word-filled nearby, be it novel, comic book, magazine, or cereal box. I’m also obsessed with monster movies (special place in my heart for anything zombie), cooking (and the eating of) unhealthy/delicious food, fuzzy animals, country music, and travel (anywhere and everywhere). I’ve lived and worked in Manhattan since 2005, and just joined the Roc team last April. I’m lucky enough to help Anne and Ginjer with their amazing authors, and am constantly re-star-struck by the fact that I get to work with talents like Simon Green, S. L. Viehl, Rachel Caine and Anne Bishop.
Danielle Stockley, Editorial Assistant
I am a recent transplant to New York City and the newest addition to the Roc editorial staff, where I work as Susan Allison’s assistant. I recently completed my Master’s degree in Children’s Literature and am happy to discuss the function of the miniature in the fantastic with anyone who is willing to listen (few are). Literary interests include steampunk, American history, linguistics and any book with a dragon in it. I also enjoy network television, Buffy Season 8, and very smelly cheeses. I hope one day to retire to a small farm on the island of Gont and raise Otaks.
