| Nigel Portwood was appointed CFO of the Penguin Group in January 2003. Prior to that he was the President and CEO of Pearson Education Europe, Middle East and Africa from April 1999 until December 2002. Nigel joined Pearson in 1995 in the Strategy and Development Group at plc head office. From 1997 to 1999 he was Director of Strategy and Development for Pearson plc.
Nigel began his career working for a firm of Strategic Consultants in London, working across all industries but with a particular focus on media and consumer goods. He graduated from Cambridge University with an honours degree in Engineering and has an MBA from INSEAD.
Nigel is married with two children and has just relocated from London to New
York.
