Maria Middlestead is an award-winning author and public speaker. She was born in Canada, and in the 1970s after majoring in writing and history at the University of British Columbia travelled the world, eventually settling in New Zealand. Maria has worked as a journalist, caterer, pastry chef, health lecturer, cooking tutor and nutritionist, and has appeared on radio and television in New Zealand, Australia and Canada. She is a regular nutrition columnist for the Christchurch Press.
