Michele M. Serros |
 |
Born in Oxnard, California, Michele Serros is a graduate of UCLA. An encouraging letter from author Judy Blume started Michele writing at the age of eleven, and she hasn?t stopped since. An award-winning, frequently anthologized poet and commentator, Serros recently released a spoken-word CD and toured with Lollapalooza as one of their "Road Poets." When Lalo Press, the original publisher of Chicana Falsa, went out of business, Michele sold copies of the book from her garage. She teaches poetry at inner-city schools and women?s prisons through the PEN Center West?s programs and lives in California with her husband Gene Trautmann, a drummer for the band Dig. In addition to collecting snow globes and vinyl records, Serros enjoys bowling, girls-only pajama parties, and eating corn dogs from Hot-Dog-on-a-Stick.
